What is the difference between your programs?
All of our programs are guided by our philosophy which fosters a child-centered curriculum, providing developmentally appropriate social, emotional and intellectual experiences. Therefore, the curriculum, philosophy, and practices are the same at all of our locations.
The major differences in our programs are funding sources, locations and hours.
Our City Center provides full day childcare for infants, full day/part time childcare for toddlers, as well as full time/part time preschool. This program is not supported by state or federal funds and is therefore priced at market rate.
First 5 is funded by a state initiative to provide universal pre-school. This funding allows us to provide preschool at a reduced cost from our market rate site. Our First 5 preschools (NfL @ EARThS Magnet and NfL @ University Center) only offer part time preschool.
State preschool provides preschool at no cost for income eligible families and their children. Our State preschools are NfL @ Conejo Elementary and NfL @ Park Oaks Elementary. We also offer morning and afternoon State preschools at City Center.
How much do your classes cost?
Our programs vary in cost depending on the site and your need (for example, part time vs. full time and childcare vs. preschool). Please see the Registration page for specific cost information.
What time are your preschool classes?
The time of our classes varies for each location. We offer morning preschool classes for children ages 3-5 at EARThS, University, City Center, Conejo and Park Oaks. We offer afternoon preschool classes for children ages 3-5 at EARtHS, University, Conjeo and Park Oaks. At the City Center, we also offer full day preschool as well as full day infant and toddler care.

Our preschools are located at 5 locations throughout Thousand Oaks. Please see the above chart for addresses of our preschool locations.
Do you offer "lunch bunch" or extended hours at your pre-schools?
The City Center is able to provide extended hours on a case by case basis. All other sites do not have extended hours.
Do you have Full Day childcare?
Yes, we do have full day care for children 6 months through enrollment in Kindergarten at our City Center Facility. See the City Center page for more information.
Do I need to volunteer in the classroom?
Parents are required to volunteer 3 hours a month at our First 5 Programs (EARTHs and University).
Parents are not required volunteer at the City Center or State Preschool Programs, but are always welcome and encouraged to volunteer.
